April 3, 2008 Notice of Online Survey for Comprehensive Plans
Citizens of Manitowoc County Communities Encouraged to Complete Online Survey Since August of 2007, Manitowoc County and many of its local jurisdictions have been working with the Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission to begin the process of developing/updating their Comprehensive Plans. Public input is an essential element of this multi-jurisdictional planning effort and it is important for each community to learn citizens’ views about development, preservation, and other planning issues impacting their community. As a result, an online survey has been posted on the Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission website for the participating planning communities listed below. Communities within the county presently not developing local comprehensive plans are also able to complete the survey in order to provide input for the Manitowoc County Comprehensive Plan. The information gathered will give planners and local officials direction on what citizens view as the most important characteristics of their community. Also, survey responses along with public input received at community meetings will be used to guide and develop goals, objectives, and policies for local comprehensive plans.
