TOWN BOARD MEETING – February 7, 2006
The Town Board of the Town of Cooperstown met on February 7, 2006 at
7:00 PM at the Town Hall for a special meeting concerning the Highway
R curb & gutter project. Meeting called to order by Chairman Enz at
7:02 p.m. Others present were Supervisors Fred Lemens and John Hager,
Treasurer Bernie Duescher and Clerk Sue Kornely. There were 12 others
present. Chairman Enz recapped the projected plans for both side of
the road and the run off issues and the plans for the east-side
construction planned for 2007. Residents questions were addressed as
to financial issues, having the whole project completed at one time
and blacktop replacement. Al Czarneski stated he doesn’t want the curb
replaced and the issue with water run off into his garage. Robert
Remiker wanted to know who would be responsible for the blacktop in
front of the properties when it came time for replacement. Chairman
Enz stated two more catch basins were going to be added in front of
church. Treasurer Duescher explained the waiver, the procedures if all
the waivers were not returned and the meeting that will be necessary.
If all waivers are not returned the Special Assessment will still be
imposed on the 2006 taxes, payable in 2007. Motion for a five- year
payment plan pending all signatures Sup. Lemens /Sup.Hager. Carried
3/0.

The Town Board of the Town of Cooperstown met on February 7, 2006 at
8:20 PM at the Town Hall for a special meeting to review, discuss &
approve the new hire of a town employee for the roadman position.
Meeting called to order by Chairman Enz at 8:20 p.m. Others present
were Supervisors Fred Lemens and John Hager and Clerk Sue Kornely. The
Board discussed the qualifications of each of the applicants. Motion
to hire Dan Kasten @ $17 from a part-time position to full-time Sup.
Lemens/Sup. Hager. Carried 3/0. Motion to increase Dan Kasten’s wage
by $.50 for his 30-day review effective February 5, 2006 Sup. Hager/
Sup. Lemens. Carried 3/0.
